- About Us
Carmen Guzman, 77, of Tampa, Florida, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Northdale on the morning of September 30, 2019.
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she had 5 sisters and 4 brothers. She loved to dance, she loved music and she loved to cook. Above all, she loved her family.
Carmen had six children. Milagros, Betty, Jorge, Lourdes, Ruth, and Elizabeth. She had individual relationships with each of her children, and each one loved, respected, and protected her. She unfortunately had to lay Milagros and Betty to rest. She is survived by her four other children. Who gave her the grandchildren that she loved so dearly.
Carmen had 23 grandchildren from her 6 children. Each one different from the last, each one loved exactly the same. Unconditionally. Her grandchildren are the reason she is still called 'Abuela' to this day, and will continue to be for the rest of our lives. She helped raise many of her grandchildren when there was a need for her to. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. And then they started having children.
37 Great Grandchildren
Carmen had 37 Great Grandchildren of ages from 26 to still in the womb. Each one called her Abuela just as her grandchildren did. Just like her grandchildren, she's had a hand in raising many of her great grandchildren and will forever be a staple in their hearts and souls as they grow.
She was everyone's Abuela. Friends and extended family included. She loved to cook for everyone, she loved family parties, and she can dominate any one in Dominoes. She loved making people laugh. She had sayings that were identifiable to her like 'You so cute!', or 'Que camisa linda donde tu la guarda'.
Abuela will forever be the source of her family's strength. From her children right down to her great grandchildren. Her spirit will stand by us and ensure our safety just as she always has.
