Mr. Eric Bernard Smith, 53 of Tampa, Florida passed away Monday April 22nd at home unexpectedly from Congestive Heart Failure & COPD. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1966. His religious affiliation was Episcopalian. He came to Florida in 1991 from Colorado Springs, Co and served in the US Air Force from 1984-1988. Eric was known to his family, friends and co-workers as kind, caring, and compassionate. He was a loving and affectionate husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He was a jokester and loved to make people around him happy and laugh. Goofball should have been his middle name. He was a family man, truly dedicated to being the best father to his two sons. He enjoyed being the ‘go-to’ Dad in neighbored. He was the skate board ramp builder, the fishing instructor, basketball coach and often the referee to lots of games and the shenanigans of the cul-de-sac of Silverbrook Dr. He is also a third degree black belt holder for Martial Art.
Eric was very enthusiastic & passionate about life and the things he enjoyed. His love of music and instruments found him working as the Assistant Manager at the Tampa Fine Arts Academy. He loved to watch the students learn and aspire to be better. He also volunteered his time to setting up weekend ‘Music Concerts’ for the students.
