William “Bill” Gabriel Cunnane, of Odessa, FL passed away November 5, 2019. After an aggressive fight with medical illnesses, Bill passed away while in care at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, at the age of 80. He leaves behind his wife, Anna Messina Cunnane, their daughter, Shana Cunnane Gustafson, and their son, Carl Messina Cunnane. Bill was born in Ballinasloe Ireland on May 17, 1939, to father, John Patrick Cunnane, and mother, Anna Maria Shaughnessy Cunnane. He grew up in a large loving family in Ireland with four brothers; Michael, John, Kevin, and Desmond and one sister, Maura. Bill immigrated to the United States in 1957 and shortly thereafter joined the US Army, where he served proudly and Honorably Separated in 1964. Once Bill’s military service was complete, he became a CPA and flourished in that industry until his retirement. Bill married the love of his life, Anna Messina on July 22, 1978. They lived in Atlanta, Georgia, raising their two children Kevin and Shana to adulthood before settling in the Tampa area where they raised their youngest son, Carl. Bill is survived by his wife, 2 children, four grandchildren, a son & a daughter in law, five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his eldest son, Kevin Gabriel Cunnane, father of Abigail and Caroline. Services: A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at Saint Timothy Catholic Church, 17512 Lakeshore Rd. Lutz, FL 33558 on Friday November 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM, followed by a reception immediately after mass. Bill requested to be returned to the Earth. As a Military Veteran, his body will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, at 1:30 PM on November 15, 2019 with a headstone to commemorate his life. All are welcome The family would especially like to thank Father Malley and the staff of Saint Timothy Catholic Church in Lutz, Florida for their attentive, loving treatment of the Cunnane family during this time.
