I am very saddened to hear of Ed's passing. I flew with him many times while at Delta Airlines and thoroughly enjoyed his company. He was a great story teller and an excellent pilot!
I also enjoy thinking about my time with him.
He will be sorely missed!

Years and years ago I flew copilot for Ed on the 727. He was always smiling and gracious to all who crossed his path. He was a good pilot and an even better traveling companion. After I checked out as captain I always attempted to emulate his professional and personal behavior.

We had the pleasure of meeting Ed and his family in 1976 when we moved to the Dallas area. We enjoyed 3 wonderful years being neighbors and friends before we moved again. We continued to stay in touch over the many years since and always enjoyed Ed's wonderful sense of humor. He was a great friend and we will miss him.

Ed was a great guy. From the early days when his father owned the boat yard on the Hillsbrough and I lived near there. To letting me and my family use his house on the Weeki Wachee.....The world would be a better place with more like him...Ed Evans ,retired Delta employee

I have so many fond memories of you along with my family and the Blacks. I remember once, when I was a young kid, you or Mr. Black jumping out of the coffin in the wonderfully elaborate Halloween decorations!! I was so sad to hear of your passing. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. With love, Molly

I too remember "Capt" Eddie for his great sense of humor. He was a good neighbor and good friend. I have a lot of memories of the great times we had siting around the swimming pool telling stories. I am a retired Delta pilot but we never flew together. Clear skies and tailwinds Eddie.

It has been many years since we last flew together, yet I immediately smile thinking of Ed. A special person who made the room happier because he was in it.
