Obituary

Adam Peter Banks of Tampa, Florida went home to be with the Lord at 1:22 a.m. November 19, 2021, following a brief illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, at the age of 39 years, 11 months, and 9 days. He was born on December 10, 1981 in Centralia, Illinois, to Dennis and Cynthia nee Windler Banks. He was baptized on December 11, 1981 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Centralia, by Pastor Eugene Davidenas and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, Illinois, on March 31, 1996 by Pastor Jeff Schrank. Adam was a 2000 graduate of Nashville Community High School and attended Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. He moved to Tampa, Florida in 2011, where he was employed in management with Autozone.

Adam loved roller coasters – especially the rides at Cedar Point in Ohio, playing ice hockey, the St. Louis Blues and Cardinals, and his family. He will be greatly missed.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Susie Pound and stepson Elijah Dunn of Tampa; his parents Dennis & Cynthia Banks of Nashville, Illinois; a sister, Celeste (Brent) Rueter of Nashville; three brothers, Gabriel (Sonia Perez) Banks of Nashville, Isaac (Annette) Banks of Kirkwood, Missouri, and twin brother Elijah Banks, of Nashville; nephews Spencer (Mackenzie Clubb) Banks, Isaiah Rueter, Jonah and Noah Banks, all of Nashville; nieces Isabel, Olivia, and Eleanor Banks of Kirkwood, MO; twin great-nephew and great-niece Atlas and Jupiter Banks of Nashville; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul & Norma nee Cheever Banks and Richard & Minnie nee Hanenberger Windler; uncles Don Banks, Terry Heggemeier, Donald Windler, Michael Braun, John Yaeger, and James Green; aunt Janet Yaeger; and cousin Courtney Moeller.

Per Adam’s wishes, his remains were cremated. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Nashville.

Friends may call at Trinity, Hoyleton on Saturday, December 11, from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Pancreas Foundation and will be accepted by Campagna Funeral Home or may be made online at https://pancreasfoundation.org.

MacDonald Funeral Home has been assisting the family with arrangements in Florida and Campagna Funeral Home is assisting the family in Illinois.
