Bernadette J. Malicki, age 87, died peacefully with her loving son by her side on November 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lutz, Florida after a persistent illness.
Bernadette was born in New York City on December 27, 1933 and adopted and raised by Madeline Flood of Bridgeport, Connecticut. She graduated from Milford High School in 1950 and raised her three children in Milford, Ct., along with her first husband Richard D. Parker of New Haven, Connecticut.
“Mom” was wonderfully devoted to her 3 children Linda Parker-Bowen (deceased), Theresa Parker-Glass (Marine) of Port St. Lucie and her son Richard Parker Jr. and daughter in-law Ann Parker, of Tampa, Florida. She was a loving Grandmother to Kristin Parker-Marchewka, Curtis, Melissa and Dawn Bowen, and Charlie and Harry Parker. She also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren.
After spending the majority or her career as a Medical Secretary/Physicians Transcriber at Yale University Neurology Dept., Milford Hospital, and OB/GYN Medical Group, she and her loving second husband Frank B. Malicki relocated to Florida. There she followed her passion towards helping the infirmed and became a certified Home Health Aide until 2007.
Besides spending her time with family and friends, tending to her flowers, bird watching, and doting over her beloved miniature shelties Toby and Buddy, she touched many lives with her kind heart, generosity, and genuine warmth.
Family and friends are invited to her celebration of life at St. Timothy Catholic Church at 17512 Lakeshore Road | Lutz FL 33558 on December 14th 2021 at 11:00 AM, followed by her burial at the Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue | Bushnell, Florida at 2pm.
A special thanks to the Hospice Home Health services aides for their care and sincere dedication to Mom’s support and comfort. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Worriers Project and Mid Florida Sheltie Rescue.
