Charles A. Maiore, 77, passed away January 9, 2020 after a brief illness, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was born May 17, 1942, in Poughkeepsie, NY, the son of Corrado (Charles N.) Maiore and Leonita Peluse Maiore.
Charlie graduated from Arlington High School, Class of 1959. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Air Force he worked for the Board of Education for Poughkeepsie NY which introduced him to working with computers. He went on to have a long career working with computers as a Project Manager/Installation Manger. This gave him the opportunity to travel and live in different parts of the world. Once he retired he continued to love traveling and took many trips to his beloved Italy and other parts of Europe. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed studying both the Revolutionary and Civil wars. He was known for his quick wit and loved to banter with anyone he met. He was always willing to help out anyone anyway he could. During his retirement he worked at the YMCA Express in Westchase where he made many friends and enjoyed watching the members kids grow up. When not at the Y could often be found sitting at Starbucks talking to the locals or on his phone with friends and family in other cities.
He was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Lee Maiore.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Rose Tasso Maiore, son Anthony (Tony) Maiore (Kim), daughter Anne Minor (Lance), stepchildren Todd Ferranti (Danielle), Jennifer Ferranti , his three beautiful granddaughters, Sammy, Dylan and Evie. His sister, Anita Maiore and brother Victor Maiore along with several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
